With the arrival of a new season we often see the arrival of new products and brand launches, right on cue we have a brand new fragrance launch from Ariana Grande, she has named this latest offering Moonlight* which I for one love! I wasn’t too sure how I would feel about it if I’m honest, I don’t generally tend to go for celebrity fragrances, I’m not too sure why in truth. Perhaps I felt like I might be a bit too old to wear a fragrance designed by Ariana Grande who has a huge following of young girls and this particular fragrance might be more targeted toward a younger teen/pre-teen age range. As it happens I couldn’t have been further from the truth.
This most recent scent from Ariana, her third I believe is in keeping with that of both of her previous perfumes, Ari and Sweet Like Candy. They are all concealed inside of a stunning multidimensional glass bottle with each having their own unique colour scheme and they are all adorned with the cute pom-pom detail, which I’m a big fan of I must say. The bottle itself is gorgeous with the Moonlight bottle boasting gorgeous iridescent lilac tones and given the multidimensional shape of the bottle the light catches it beautifully, it has been designed this way to convey the magic of moonlight Ariana has said. The cap is a metallic lilac tone with matching lilac pompom which is detachable might I add. The bottle is honestly so stunning, it would be perfectly at home sat pride of place on top of a vanity or dressing table.
The scent is more on the sweet side which is exactly what I expected, prominent floral notes shine through with just the right amount of fruity notes to compliment it. Another prominent layer you get is a sweet, creamy element which comes through as the fragrance begins to settle into the skin. It’s a very feminine fragrance I feel, it’s sweet without being too sweet while incorporating just the right amount of sweet fluffy marshmallow and creamy vanilla tones to compliment it beautifully. Reading the description it isn’t a scent I’d expect to like personally and it is definitely the only scent like it in my collection, but that’s what makes it great. It is something a little different than I usually wear, but I actually really love the fragrance. I think Ariana has done a fab job with this scent and I’m intrigued to try her two previous scents.
The body of the perfume is made up with:
Top Notes: Rich Black Currant and Juicy Plum
Heart: Fluffy Marshmallow and Fresh Peony
Base: Creamy Sandalwood, Black Amber and Sensual Vanilla
Over all I can honestly say I really love this scent, the packaging is stunning and I am so grateful to have received this because it is such a beautiful perfume and I’d never have tried it myself otherwise. I’ll definitely be making a point of trying more scents, particularly ones I might generally not go for. I’ll be making sure I try the other scents from Ariana, hopefully I love them as much as Moonlight so I can have a trio of beautiful bottles to adorn my vanity.
